Spring League 2025
March 18 - May 9
Sierra Stingrays
RSM Marlins
Our Satellite teams teams are for swimmers who have swim lesson experience, and want to start swimming on a beginning swim team. Swimmers will progress in their knowledge of each stroke, while also building endurance and developing race skills. Each practice will have 10-15 minutes of dryland, 45 minutes of water time with skills and drills work, as well as race games.

Going on our 25th year of our Mission Viejo Nadadore Satellite team program, our 8 week program provides a team experience and teaches our swimmers the skills needed to become competitive swimmers in a fun, low-pressure situation. Our seasons are designed to build upon what we have learned during ‘learn to swim’, and to prepare kids for year-round swimming- essentially to bridge the gap between swim lessons and competitive USA swim clubs. Practices are 4 days a week for one hour for each age group. The younger children (5-8 years old) will swim in the first hour, and older children (9 years and older) will swim in the second hour. Each practice starts with stretching and dryland activities before the kids get into the water.
Each week focuses on a skill broken down over the week. Our focus is on building their fundamental skills with drills and stroke work, along with different ways to keep the kids engaged. The program is designed for kids to find a love for swimming at their own pace. Our season is 8 weeks. Halfway through the season, we will hold a fun ( no disqualifications) dual meet between our two Spring League teams where swimmers will compete in a maximum of individual 3 events and one relay. After the last practice of the season, we have a championship meet where both teams swim against our swim school's pre-competitive squad. Also included in your registration fee is an intensive stroke clinic that focuses on hands-on instruction for breaststroke and butterflies. Before the end of the season, our head coach will evaluate our swimmers to determine if they are ready for our pre-competitive team.
Spring League is from March 17 to May 9. Practices are 1-hour sessions. 45 minutes in the water and 15 minutes stretching and warm up. You can come every day ( highly recommended as swimming is all about muscle memory but it is absolutely fine to take days off) Because your child is new to the program, they will have to try out first. Tryout consists of swimming one lap of freestyle and one lap of backstroke to prove water safety. Their stroke doesn't have to be pretty ( we take care of that!) but one has to be able to swim unassisted. We are not doing try outs yet for the spring session yet.
For those new to our program, registration is $450 for 8 weeks of practices, 2 swim meets, a spring league clinic as well as a team TYR swim suit, team shirt and cap. For our returning families that still have their TYR black suits from last season - registration is $375 which covers the same as new families, minus the cost of a suit. If you feel your swimmer has outgrown their suit, please email me and we will process payment to include a new swim suit.
